EVERY CHILD MATTERS

September 30, 2026

🧡 EVERY CHILD MATTERS 🧡

Today, Royal Academy of Punjab stands in reflection, remembrance and respect as we recognize Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We honour the First Nations, Inuit and Métis children who were taken from their families, communities, languages and cultures through the residential school system. We remember the children who never came home, and we acknowledge Survivors, their families and the generations who continue to carry its impacts.

At Royal Academy of Punjab, we see every day how deeply culture, language, tradition and community shape a young person’s sense of belonging. This reminds us why every child deserves the opportunity to know who they are, to be proud of where they come from, and to grow surrounded by safety, dignity, love and respect.

Reconciliation requires more than remembrance. It asks us to listen, to learn, to acknowledge the truth and to carry that understanding forward in how we treat one another and the generations that follow us.

Today, we wear orange with respect and stand alongside Indigenous communities.

🧡 For the children who never came home.
🧡 For the Survivors and their families.
🧡 For generations past, present and future.
